Mesut Ozil appears to be already a Manchester United player after his profile template was placed on the club's official website.
The Daily Mail has apparently picked that up and while no formal announcement has been made regarding the signing of the highly coveted German midfielder, his profile on United's website has only fueled speculation of his imminent move to Old Trafford.The Werder Bremen starlet has been hotly linked with a host of top clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and United after impressing in the World Cup.
And although Bremen's sporting director Klaus Allofs earlier claimed the club have not received any bids from Barcelona, no mention was made about United.
Sir Alex Ferguson was also recently spotted at a pre-season game between Fulham and Bremen, further fueling his interest in signing the 23-year-old.
United have moved swiftly to pour cold water on an imminent move for the playmaker, claiming Ozil's profile is nothing more than a technical glitch.
It is still not known if appearance of the profile was a result of the site being hacked but the profile can still be viewed here.
