Man United want Lassana Diarra

Manchester United are reportedly interested in buying Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid.
Diarra is supposed to be surplus to needs at the Bernabeu after the arrival of Sami Khedira from Stuttgart and Real are looking to recoup the €20 million they paid for the midfielder in 2009.
The Frenchman has failed to carve out a regular starting place for himself at Real and with Khedira's addition coach Jose Mourinho seems to have made it clear that Diarra is not an integral part of his plans for the new season.
AS reports Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to shore up his midfield which currently looks a little old with the likes of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.
The 25-year-old Diarra would be a perfect fit in Fergie's side, given that he has previous Premier League experience with Arsenal, Chelsea and Portsmouth.
United have not spent much on their defensive reinforcements this year - with Chris Smalling being the only defensive signing thus far.
